What's your view? We are happy to help, but like to encourage people to do some of their own research first. Have you found similar watches on Google? Here? What info is given about it on Craigslist? What concerns do you have?
Genuine, if with a somewhat degraded dial. So far these Seamasters haven't been faked, but you'd want to have a peek inside to see if the movement is okay. These monocoque cases open from the dial side. Cheers Desmond
OOps, I think you're on the money to raise some questions...... my bad. It's questions , not answers, that drive knowledge acquisition on watches. Regards D
Private seller said the watch is from 1962 I can't find any watches on google that look just like this one, my take is prob fake - $425 seems pretty low - to good to be true must be right? that's why I came to this forum.
Desmond (@mondodec) is correct. The watch is real. but would need to see inside to confirm that there are no significant issues (eg movement completely rusted through).
"$425 seems pretty low - to good to be true must be right?" It looks more like a $325 to me. No service history and marginal dial. Why not look at the sellers on this site? They are much more picky and watches here are most likely already vetted.
Great thank You - I will inspect the inside and look for obvious issue before purchasing. (gift for dad) What are your thoughts on price if good condition?
The case is certainly genuine. Here's an ad for a similar Seamaster: If you read the text, Omega these are considered "deVille" models, probably because of the lop-loading case. gatorcpa
Coming from the UK I thought Craigslist is where you found people for casual sex? If so you might be able to kill two birds with one stone so to speak.
