Very interesting...I tried to go to antiquorum.com and it redirected me to antiquorum.swiss. On that site, there are no longer contacts for the NY office. I did a little more reading and found some interesting articles (below). I didn't see any previous threads here about it but it looks like Antiquorum NY, which is separate from the European Antiquorum, did not pay out consignors for many months and only did so this April after heavy legal action. Will be interesting to see if they end up re-opening the NY office and how this will affect the trust of potential clients. But, this is probably good news for Christie's and Sotheby's NY offices 1. https://nypost.com/2017/07/04/aucti...tiffing-customers-is-now-under-investigation/ 2. https://nypost.com/2018/04/23/watch-auction-house-agrees-to-pay-back-customers-it-stiffed/ 3. Don't know if they closed or not but there have been similar rumblings for quite some time now, in addition to other alleged shady practices. There are actually some good people who have cycled through AQ over the past 15 years or so, but anyone consigning with them over the past couple of years probably has not done appropriate diligence. It now sounds like a Ponzi scheme, where they are trying to generate fees and sale proceeds to pay consignors from prior sales. Very dangerous.
Holy cow, I didn't realize how possible it would be to scam people like this. Aren't they still operating in Europe?
