Hello all,

I'm Denis Siqueira, from and living in Sao Paulo, Brazil. As a 100% new member, please forgive me if I'm posting this request on the wrong forum or

It came to me to hold and care for a magnificient Grandfather Clock that is with my family for a long time... My father (deceased in Nov 2019) told it is in the family since his grandfather's oldest brother migrated from Italy to Brazil (most probably in late 1890s). Unfortunetely, this is as much as I have of its history.

Very recently, when exploring for potencial serial numbers and/or model on its "body", I found at the back of the movements an encraved "crown-anchor" symbol (with a "G B" letter embeed on it), a "P112" code a bit bellow, and finally a smaller number "927" just right at the bottom. I attached some pictures of it just as a reference.

Any further information is very much appreciated!

My very best regards and thanks,
Denis Siqueira.

The G B with the anchor is the trade mark for the German clock maker Gustav Becker. There is lots to be found on line about the company. Unable to tell you anything about your clock.

I just googled and found a list with the serial-nos in german.: https://watch-wiki.org/index.php?title=Seriennummernverzeichnis_Gustav_Becker
According to that list and assuming that 927 is an eraly serial-number, your grandfathers clock could be from the 1850 ies.

And I would say that the style is typical for the so called "Biedermeier" era.

Thank you very much UWG ! I'll also have a look on the link you shared. Hopefully I can get further information that might lead to this grandfather clock origin.
