It has been rather humid for Southern California. Saturday, I was in my non-A/C house, but facing a fan, Speedmaster on wrist. I had been testing the chrono to see how well the hands aligned at at the hour mark. I looked down and the crystal was foggy and had very small drops in one small area. Gulp! It cleared up fairly quickly but I jumped into the car to buy some desiccant and the A/C in the car again caused fogging. A/C off. Watch went into a freezer bag with a desiccant pack until today (Monday). I just dropped it off at ABC. No harm done. Strangely it passed a 1 bar pressure test but failed somewhere before 3 bar. There was a touch of play in the crown when pressed on. The crown had needed refitting a couple of months ago. The pushers and other seals were new less than two years ago. Anyway I've decided that if it can't handle SoCal humidity, my confidence in it is shot. So the crown is being replaced. (Of course the original will be safe and sound when I need it.) C'est la vie.
I was going to wear my 321 tomorrow but will be taking train to and from work and fcst is T Storms. Cant take em out in the rain even if you have em serviced.
@flyingout , you probably can sell that one and install a complete central AC unit in your house! the other option is send it to me and I promise to keep in the proper temperature/humidity environment to prevent this problem from reoccurring I'll even send you pictures every week!
