If i only had this wonderful new book that is supposed to come up one day i wouldn´t need to ask all these stupid questions Should the tension ring of the crystal be polished or black ?
Love this add, thanks for showing. I was always looking for that one as a proof that 105.012 with non professional dial existed. But as always ... you can say they did some kind of ancient Photoshop
Or better... in early years of 105.003 they used certainly polished tension ring and more after may be they used one only type (the black) for both the speedies for production needs Ciao, Gino
Interesting, I did not know that 003's came with polished tension rings. i think they look better. however I believe it has been established (somewhere in the fora) that omega was not that careful in photographing references for their adverts. So possible that the 003 in the advert above is an 002. I hope "the book" when it comes out won't stop all the questions......
Thats what i meant with "ancient photoshopping" when refering to the 105.012 with a Pre Pro dial in this add.
I had an early 105.003 with polished ring. one remark: the watches in this ad are drawings and totally non coherent and do not reflect real pieces. The model described as 105.003 is composed of a bezel from 2998-1 or -2, dial from pre model before 2998-3, hands from late 105.002 or 105.003...
and the dial on that was an ..? A5, 6 or 7? The silver tension ring would cover the edge on a 105.003 dial wouldn't it? http://omegaforums.net/threads/incoming-speedmaster-105-002-62-pre-pro.9223/page-3#post-117193
A7. Regarding the ring, it´s not the same as on early models. The angle is the same as black rings. my late 105.002 (pictured) has the same.
So, we have the large silver ring, the small silver ring and the small black ring? Interesting. The transition model 105.002 is becoming more and more complicated. Just thought there only was the one silver and one black. And the small silver ones could be ones with the black paint coming off? As discussed here: http://omegaforums.net/threads/reflector-ring-color-on-early-speedmasters.7860/ Nice examples anyhow;-)
