Great watch! Interestingly, my black-dial version is the same era as yours, but actually has a Valjoux 726. My silver-dial as a V72. Have you checked the movement? I'm curious if it's actually a V726.

 

Interesting but.... As this watch came from one of our most knowledgeable members, he says it’s V72 and has been serviced, I am not going to open it. Nice pieces btw. I kinda have Gallet on the brain right now which is not a good thing.......Two pieces within a month....

 

Yeah, I'm a Gallet fan too. The two movements look almost identical, and most people would assume V72 unless they looked extremely closely. If you're curious, you can time it. The two movements have different beat rates.

Ok... you inspired me to go and find one... here’s mine. Not sure about the Chrono hand, but I’m leaving it on for now..

 

Like the lollipop chrono hand on my Jimmy Clark. Not sure it belongs there, probably doesn’t but it sure looks like it belongs there! Handsome piece. Congrats!

 

@khanmu: Chrono hand and bezel seem to be replacements, but good fits. I believe that service parts are available from Gallet (crown also for @Larry S), but they would probably require a complete service so may not be worth it. Be sure to tell them not to polish the case (I had an unpleasant experience with them).

 

From what I am told...parts with full service only and long lead time. I'm still debating sending my Jim Clarke to them but It's been serviced by the guy I bought it from and I like it as is.
