Check out this listing for a Rolex GMT-Master 16750. On first glance everything seems pretty much on the up and up. Price is pretty much in the ballpark, condition looks decent, but take a closer look at pictures 5 and 6. I think I notice something, and I could certainly be wrong, but I don't think Rolex ever made end links quite like those. Look familiar to anyone here? Never seen anyone crossing the streams like this before. http://www.ebay.com/itm/ROLEX-GMT-M...198116?hash=item2cc0fa6be4:g:iEkAAOSwDrNZPsrNPurchases made through these links may earn this site a commission from the eBay Partner Network
Definitely incorrect end links. For $7K, I would hope the owner could spare the $100 to $200 for the correct parts. Shouldn't they be 580 end links?
Looks like the opening where bracelet meets the end link is too wide and end links are seating too deep....
Yes they should be 580. What number do they say is my point? Did my crossing the streams metaphor not make sense?
Yes, thank you, I thought for a minute there nobody cared or I was seeing things. The dealer who listed this for $7k couldn't bother to even put any Rolex end links on this thing. Those are Omega 633 end links of all things. Didn't try the correct vintage 580, 501B, 593, or even modern 580 that you can find still in Rolex packaging. Wonder if that's how he found it or if he specifically put those on there and thought nobody buying a watch on eBay would notice they aren't even the right brand.
