Hi. I have been looking high and low for waffle dials to add to my collection and just came across this one on the bay. http://www.ebay.com/itm/Vintage-195...805943765?pt=Wristwatches&hash=item2ec0f789d5Purchases made through these links may earn this site a commission from the eBay Partner Network

At first glance, I guessed redial, but from different angles in the pics, it actually looks good. Price would need some negotiating though.

Not sure on the dial either, but that price is very high.

I think the case, particularly the brushing on the back, has been redone. It's a decent job though. The box is something from near the correct time period and I doubt it's the watch's original box. It's not serviced either as the seller notes at the end of the description. He does say the hands have some slip when being set which is usually corrected with a proper service.

The other issue is that I thought the rounded S came in in the late 50s? Should this have the double coathanger S? THe image of this model (2846) in the OMega Vintage Database has the double coathanger.

This is past the line for the change between the coathanger and wide curved S. The serial number dates it to around 1965 and the coathanger S was pretty much gone by then, except for maybe the UK cased Dennison watches.

EDIT: Wait, you're talking about the white waffle dial, aren't you? I was referring to the second watch.

Last two pictures are the same watch, mine.

BTW, that OCWatchCO seems to do a lot of redials. Beware.

I'm talking about the first, which Steve just posted a pic of. Hadn't looked at the movement serial, the eBay reference says mid 1950s, which would put it around the same time as the change over. If the movement is from the 1960s, that raises further questions.
