    Hey everyone

As the title mentions, I'm looking to buy this speedy. This community has been super helpful in the past and I would love a little more help

This watch looks like a nice honest example. I've asked for a caseback shot. The seller wants 4800

    What do you guys think?

Looks nice. What else does the seller have to say about it?

    Price is a bit steep...

    This is from the seller
Watch has original step dial and hands both of which have developed an awesome yellow patina. Case has been unpolished and has very few blemishes. The watch chrono resets to zero and is keeping excellent time. Unknown service history.

Watch comes on a brown leather "smokey jack" leather strap from Bulang and Sons as well as a leather travel pouch. No box or paperwork included.

How is a better then good a high price at 4800?

Sm101 puts good at 4400. Lumes great and the case looks re brushed but not terrible based on what the back looks like vs the front.

Well, missed the 220 bezel, so with that it mind, I think it's a decent price.

Lack of service history would mean a service (for me)

    Good luck!

Another, maybe stupid question, it looks like some of the numbers get cut off on the bezel. Is that normal?

What do you think the difference in price between an DN90 vs a 220 is? Couldn't find that on Speedy101

Not much, but as @abrod520 likes to say, it's the speedmaster geek's speedmaster.

Wow that's a clean example, can't tell the level of polish as there's no pics of the side of the case but I think it's a decent price IMO.

@oddboy I actually stopped in just before you tagged me lol.

Yes, I do think it's the ultimate Speedmaster nerd's Speedmaster, as nobody other than someone very well versed in Speedmaster lore will ever recognize it. In my opinion, that price will probably be considered a bargain a year from now.... maybe sooner. Hell, I'd look to buy it if I weren't holding funds for the Speedy Tuesday

We are starting to see premiums paid for 220s, not as much as a DON but a perfect one sold with a Luminova dial on eBay a couple weeks ago for around $4k, I'll dig up the link

    EDIT: $4,050

Its not huge money was my point. As you noted they have an attraction to the Speedista. They are nowhere near the bump for the Transitional.

True, not huge money (yet) but there is a small premium over regular DNN pre-moons.

Looks like it's had some polishing work done in the past, but certainly within acceptable bounds. I like it, make an offer!

Gonna have to spend some time with MWO, I can't recall having seen flat-foot crowns on -69s before.

So you think the crown is a replacement?
