Very cool. My wife follows a recipe of Alton Brown's for ribs. I forget exactly but I recall it had coffee and margarita mix in it. She makes no secret where the recipe is from, but all the friends and family say she makes the best ribs! Sounds like Alton is an advanced collector. Admires F.P. Journe, and counts the Speedmaster/Submariner/Explorer/AirKing among good serious starter watches.
Alton brown is the man! Always loved good eats. Always noticed his watches, but it is interesting that he used them to identify the seasons. Thanks for posting.
Love Altons shows. I always noticed him checking time on his wrist but never seen a face shot of any of them.
Thanks for posting this fun article. I feel a kindred spirit with Alton now. I use vintage watches for timing experiments at work and I have three of the watches he suggests are good starter watches for a collection: Air King, Explorer I, and a Speedmaster.
