Damn!. Well, at least I am getting suspicious more now. The bad thing is getting too suspicious. Nothing will convince me anymore.

If ever there is a museum to display all redials, this one qualifies straight-away.

It is good for you to bring to the attention of this forum, before picking up any watch. The experts and enthusiasts here are dying to help one another and also, the new-comers.

    Thank-you.

Worry not, this one qualifies too.

I despair of ever finding a Grand Luxe Connie in NOS condition when I see all the junk out there...

When you say $$$$, roughly what for one with that fantastic stepped dial, a 354, and solid gold bracelet? Did the stepped dial come with the 354 for just the 505?

    USD 10K?

In addition to having to sell my mother into slavery for the money, I would be so concerned about getting ripped off at that level dough.

    Regards,
    Jon

There's always a better version of the identical model of a watch you missed out on sooner or later. No mass production brand ever release a single example to the public - except maybe Hamilton with the Barbizon.

A stepped dial hooded lug GL with a brick bracelet in NOS condition? Those go for well over $10K my friend. There would be a frenzy, and little fish like us would get devoured in the turmoil. And yes, the 354 or 505 had step sided dials available.

Which is why you should ask here - but maybe via private conversation.

This is what I always remind myself whenever I see a listing that I am in the market for but which is in a lesser condition. And Mike with his "Condition Condition Condition" will come to my mind.:D

There are a couple stepped grand lux's on bracelet in PG around the 25-30k mark at the moment, they're not selling in any hurry but the true value I'd imagine is closer to that end than to 10k

Ugh, 25-30K is a bit more than I would like to invest in the project--at my current income level, anyway. They are nice, though. Perhaps I'll have to have somebody in China make me a perfect replica--just kidding. I hate replicas and people who wear them.

    Jon

all watches are replicas or homages of one another.

I certainly understand what you're saying and agree on a level...there is a line, however, when a watch bears a trademark without the permission of the owner of that trademark. Beyond that, replicas are usually just bad taste...but not necessarily, perhaps.

    Jon
