    Hello,

Today I found this 2318/5 with 1043xxxx nummer.

Is it original & correct? I appreciate your opinion, thank you in advance.

    With regards, Roel

It looks pretty good to me. Not an expert though. A straight on picture of the dial/ logo may help discern...

Hands right style, but minute appears to be too long

Needs to be the next length down

    Hello Don,

I don't understand: "needs to be the next length down."
Do you mean you want to see the tip ending before the minute track?

I bought it from a 84 year old man (claims to be first owner), he told me the watch was serviced once and within his memory no visible parts were changed.

    With regards, Roel

Odd that in the first image. Hand looks to be out past the track

Is it in the same area around the minute track?

Yes, nearby the subsecond but you're right. At 4 & 5 the hand comes out of the track.

I think that the dial is not printed exactly in the middle. At the dark spot between 4 and 5 there is a bit more space than by 6 - 12. Some serious quality issues back in the days? ;)

I checked my other 30T2 (picture) and the hand follows the track perfect.

    With regards, Roel

Not unusual for the actual dial to be off center as well, so it may not be the printing, but either sloppy work by the last watchmaker, or the watch has had a shock that bent the dial feet since then. Dials being off center is a very common thing I correct at service...

Interesting, I thought the dial feet would position the the dial to the movement very accurately.

They can be bent easily from something like an impact.

Thanks for the info. I always assumed that the bent feet came from someone removing the dial and they didn't loosen the screws enough and dials were forced off by prying the dial up. I have never seen this but heard of it.

But there is no space between the case and the edge of the dial. Common when dial feet are bent?

Which part of the case do you mean? The bezel or the carrure (middle part)?

there is plenty space between the dial and the carrure... and IMO the dial could well slip under the bezel edge if there was some impact as the bezel does not sit so tightly.
So the case can not prevent the bending of the dial feet due to an impact - the dial has space to move.

Are you sure? It would be unusual for the dial to fit inside the case with no gap at all. Have you got a shot with the crystal/bezel removed?

I'm not saying this is 100% certain with your specific watch, only that it is very common.

No I didn't take the chrystal off. IRL it's just a little bit out of track, no problem for me.

Maybe when there is a need for service I will ask to fix it. For now it is, what it is
