    Hey guys!

I just bought myself my first anonymous watch, powered by a Valjoux 23 movement:

So, I'm starting this thread for two reasons: 1) I'd love to see the other anonymous watches owned by our members and 2) please share any information (history, trivia, etc) you guys may have on these anonymous watches. Thanks!

Here's mine, with a Landeron movement. Would have been nicer if some butthurt hadn't tried to boost the price by faking an engraving on the back.

Nice one! I like how the pitting on the case matches the dial patina. It oozes with character.

This was another anonymous watch (Val 23 also) I saw at Private Eyes when I bought the watch above:

And here's another one, with a Valjoux 22, which is owned by one of the guys that work at Private Eyes. The pic doesn't do it justice. This one is beautiful, with its tropical dial and the pinkish numbers:

We need a holiday in Japan. Then I need to let the wife visit some of her former colleagues and sneak off for an unsupervised afternoon!

I bought it during my recent trip to Tokyo last January, which you can read about here

I don't know much about the history of the watch; I've been researching about these anonymous watches but couldn't find anything online. Maybe our resident chrono expert, @LouS can enlighten us? :)

As for my watch, I got it from Private Eyes, which was part of their new inventory when I went there. Taku-san, a well respected collector, ("tchrono" on IG) was also there with me and he liked this one the most out of all the new stuff. I've always wanted a nice anonymous watch with a reputable movement. This one has a Val. 23 inside. Private Eyes' owner, Endo-san, took me and Taku out to dinner and drinks where we got to talking about his watch philosophy. I asked him what is his favorite era, watch-wise, and he mentioned the late 30s to early 40s, which is when this watch was from, making me want it more, haha. I asked for pictures of the watch, sent it to a few trusted friends (Jordan, Byron) for their feedback and soon after, went back for it to got it :)

Hey man. This is more of an under-the-radar brand rather than anonymous / unbranded.

Since you didn’t say it, perhaps you weren’t aware, The T Eaton company of Canada used Solar as a house brand name for watches. Those produced by Rolex that were in Oyster cases were dialed Solar Aqua. Rolex produced the well known Eaton’s 1/4 Century watches for them, for probably 50 years.

    Yes thanks for that
I did the research on the watch when I obtained it
Interestingly it has a stamped warranty for 1952
