I just picked this up. It seems perfect besides for the number filling on the bezel, hopefully a cheap fix. I'm anxiously waiting it's arrival. It's my first purchase and my second Omega.

Congrats! Numbers can be taken care of with a thin sharpie for a quick fix.

Chocolate ... My other vice besides watches

Dandelion is IMO one of the best chocolate producers right now in the US. Sublime stuff!

    Sweet!

    Such a boss watch.

Isn't it great wearing a beautifully made mechanical watch which doesn't give you a nervous breakdown if you bump into a door jam?!?

    "Oh, FCUK!!!!!!!!!,,,oh, wait...it's the Seiko

Looks like you got a serious barn find. If you get to work on her, can you start a photo log sort of thingy?

    Hi!
It is on its way to WatchGuy UK. If he decides to take it on it will be fully documented and open for all!
I have some promising info on the reason for the second hand corrosion, so I am not too badly frightened up to now.
I still need a new second hand for it, so do not be shy! Step up and PM me if you got one or know some place to source one!!

    :):):)

I bought one of these off some hipster beardo who took a tumble off his fixie. I think it was roughly 3 years ago. Bought it for 15 bucks and spent around 40 bucks on repairs. Save for a small ding on the bezel @ 10 she's otherwise...perfect!

Do either of your watches have any "pitting" in the case back? These were true work watches with lots of sweat + pot metal = pitting which I think is bad a$$.

In the U.S. we call it "Cor-Ten" or weatherized steel.

There was a huge patent battle over the process between one of the large European Steel makers and US Steel back in the 1950's.

It's supposed to perform like stainless steel @ a fraction of the cost. Very practical for large scale projects like bridges and buildings.

    Watches...not so much?

I know we've some civil engineers and or architects here who would know infinitely more than myself about this stuff.
