An Omega day out in London.

Well, yes the weather was dreadful and yes the London Underground was packed with non smiling people, but it didn't matter. After traveling 120 miles, from my Dorset village, I was home! Back in the city where I was born and raised.

Having said that, I did keep my Dad's old Omega Speedmaster Professional 105.012-65 tucked up my sleeve, out of sight.

After spending a few hours, in Denmark St, looking at vintage American geetars, I made my way along Oxford St, to Watches of Switzerland, before visiting two Omega stores, located in that part of central London.

After Braving the, "air lock" style, double security doors, I was shown to a lovely comfy chair, where I was introduced to some rather lovely Omega Speedmasters.
Funny enough when I lifted my sleeve to compare them to my 60 year old Speedy, both people that served me, said they had never actually seen an old 321, Speedmaster.

I got so caught up in the moment that, instead of returning to the Roland store to buy an effects pedal for my bass guitars, I decided to splash out my rent money on a 拢170 Omega NATO strap.

I've been a bit worried about how secure the old 1171/633, 1970's service bracelet is and I thought, with a NATO strap, I've got 2 chances if a spring bar pops out of the lug.

Yeah... 拢170 for a similar strap to my 拢15 blue nylon strap, did seem a bit of a luxury, but then, I think my Dad's old 105.012-65 deserves a real omega NATO strap. What do you think forum?

(I'll get the photos uploaded, as soon as I work out why they wont load) 馃檮

Am I right in thinking that photos can't be loaded directly from my telephone?

Great update -- glad you are still hanging around.

Nice to see you had a good day in the city. Congrats on the new strap, and on the future pedal.

I thought you were announcing having bought a new FOIS or something here!
I鈥檝e been in that shop and recall the double air lock door. At least your 105.012 was safe in there.
What watches did you try on? Send photos when you can.

Click on 'add photos'.
Go to your 'photo library'
Touch the photos you want to insert so that you have a blue tick.
Touch the blue tick at the top right hand corner
The photos should load under your intended post
Remember to touch the word 'insert' that appears on each selected photo

Good luck

You are correct mate.

There's no "load photos" button on my telephone either.

Serious now: follow the tips from members above.

PS: Good to hear from you again, can't wait to see your new strap.

TBH, 'not smiling on the Underground' or, for that matter, any public transport service in any city is the norm.

When you live in a city, you learn that anyone smiling at you (or, indeed, at nothing in particular) is either on day release from a hospital, on some kind of medication (legal or illegal) or, particularly if you are female, about to proposition you.

My advice is to avoid eye contact and, if possible, change carriages 鈽猴笍

Thankyou very much... I'll give it a go.
If I get any problems, I'll get one of my grandchildren on the case. It'll take the 11 year old about 2 minutes to sort out.
