I've seen this case on Chuck Maddox site, its a custom made case for the Speedmaster MkIV series which have the case in 2 parts.

Nice chap and artist Werner Gilliam, I met him in a watch fair in Hambourg Germany for many years ago, well made cases, he wanted to buy my Speedmaster Mark 4.5 that was on my wrist that day to customise it

 

I think its a great looking case and something special since its also custom.

Does he take a standard case and machine it to the new design or is it a totally new case? I wonder how much he charges for just a case?

 

I don't understand why you'd put a tool watch into a dress watch case, but what do I know?

 

Probably for the same non-sense reasons some folks put cheap, ugly NATO straps on high end watches....

 

I don't think the SM300 qualifies as high-end, but it looks great on a cheap NATO
