For those of you who ever searched for these elusive crowns will know how scarce they are and how lucky I was to find this lot coming from an old watchmaker stock:

These is the crown used only on 2 watches, the SM olympic Melbourne (case# OT 2850) and the similar OT 2984

Here a detail front and back

And the icing on the cake: they all are rose gold, NOS

Finding one in yellow gold is hard enough but rose gold is somehow like "unobtonium"

IMHO these crowns are much rarer than the flat foot Speedy crowns because the olympic SM (especially the rose gold version) was built in much lower numbers than Speedies.

They are a bit tarnished and have some fine scratches from storage, but hey, beggars can´t be choosers...

Yes they are a great catch. I’m not a big lottery player but the mega millions lotto here in the US just hit one billion dollars. I dropped two bucks on a ticket. I have to say given the crowns or the billion I’d pick the latter, but your point is taken.

Wow, fantastic. I am sure if they got into the hands of a non collector they would have been melted down by now...

Great find, original and likely waterproof. It is a coincidence, because your post filled my greatest wishes as well, via the magic of Google ads.
