I've been seeking this one for a while off and on, and I finally found one in effectively NOS condition. I'd never seen this model in person before it arrived yesterday, and I was actually expecting to be disappointed after all the hype I've heard about it. It turns out that all the hype is absolutely justified and the watch totally blew me away!

Here are some photos right after I got home from sizing at the Omega Boutique King of Prussia last night. Photos just do not do the dial justice! You have to see it in person. I will probably wear it to the next GTG. Without further ado, the Omega Speedmaster Professional Apollo-Soyuz 35th Anniversary LE...

This one, together with the Gemini 4 (and perhaps also the Alaska project with the mitsukoshi version) are among the best Speedies out there imho. And while I do like all of them, each for its specific features, the speedyorite is my absolute favorite. Congrats!

@OP: Are those reflections in the subdials?

The Speediorite is definitely a Holy Grail piece. Congratulations! Mine was acquired last month through chance and diligence, and it says hello

The entire dial is made out of meteorite. It was found in the Namibian desert, it was then cut, blackened and the subdials drilled to give it the silver appearance, what you're seeing there is the actual structure and composition of the meteorite. Every dial is different on every piece due to that structure not been the same all the way through the entire piece of meteorite.

Here is a very recent shot of mine... You will see the difference in the dial [IMG]

The best bit is that there is not a single dial that looks the same in all 1975 pieces!

    Unique in a way!!

Consequently OMEGA didn't put a hesalite crystal on this piece because they thought that it would actually tone down the dial slightly so they put a sapphire crystal on there instead.
