As some of you may have seen from previous threads in the Vintage forum section I am after an Omega to fit the above bill. It would seem I need something from the 50's or 60's due to the durability of the movements during this 'golden age'
I would prefer an automatic with date or day/date but would consider something I really liked without either.
I do not want a dress watch so it doesn't have to be a fussy or fancy dial.
UK seller would be preferable to avoid the beauracracy and expense of customs.

Am I asking for too much?

Not at all. You are doing everything right. But you must be patient. Many of us are seeking certain watches, but it is never as simple as walking into a shop and ordering exactly what you want when it comes to vintage watches. New watches yes, vintage no. When you find what you want and are sure of your purchase you'll be more pleased then the one of hurried regret.

Wise words indeed. You'll find something you really like with a little patience.
Don't forget - no import duty from Europe either.

Maybe one of those Cal 75x Seamasters is where its at for you here, Mike is the biggest proponent of those models, you'd be approaching gold cap or stainless territory in one of those for 500 quid

A good vintage watch remains good even with an extra 5 years. Otherwis it's a 'not so good vintage watch'
