This 105.012 popped up on the Bay from Govberg for 9.95k and wanted to share. My thoughts:
    - The DON is amazing shape
    - The dial and hand are legit with great patina
    - Crown is wrong
    - Caseback is beveled so its a 64 or 65
    - Case l looks decent

No shots of the movement or close up of the caseback. Let me know what you think because I snap bought it. Didn't send payment yet. I have outstanding questions sent to Govberg.

    I think it’s sold.

But, if you nabbed it, well done  a phenomenal piece at a great price.

Congratulations, it looks great. I hope the movement is in an equally good shape. Please show better pics once you have the watch.

I think it may be a nice watch but it's a gamble as the photos prevent you from seeing the true condition of the case (it may be quite soft) and you have no idea of the movement condition, serial or reference.

It's absurd at the price point that dealers think it's acceptable not to show the movement on a vintage watch.

Agreed - dealers should have movement photos on something like this.

That said, you could pull the movement out of a swamp and the top end watchmakers that typically work on these pieces for forum members could have it right for less than the price of a DON bezel.

Thanks! Now hopefully everything checks out. I’ve asked for the serial and movement pics.

Yeah not sure why, seems like tablestakes to show the movement. Well it ticked a lot of boxes so I went for the gamble. If I didn’t someone else would have.

Not sure I agree. The white-box is a pain, but there is enough contrast e.g. in the top parts of some photos (as well as the head-on) to see very sharp lines...YMMV...

What a beautiful watch... Too bad it has service pushers, it could have been a perfect score!
It's funny how little some of this huge-ass preowned dealers know about vintage watches...

What tells you that about the pushers? They look like the correct for 105 shorter size to me but is it something else?

Correct 105.012 pushers have fat necks as far as I know of (cf pic). I find them prettier as well IMG_9432.JPG IMG_9433.JPG

Thin pusher tubes, if i‘m not mistaken, are also an indicator for service pushers. Compare with the fat pusher tubes from @MaiLollo .

Anyways, hope the movement checks out, if so, it looks like a great score at this price. Congrats. That DON is in very nice condition.

    Cheers,
    Max

Edit: I must be a bit slow this morning, I realize that @MaiLollo ment the exact same thing talking about the pusher necks. Sorry.

If I can get away with only having to deal with chasing down pushers and a crown I’ll be more than happy

I also saw this and thought it looked great. If I hadn't just bought a 105.012-66, I definitely would have grabbed it. There is a 30-day return, so if there is a problem with the movement or serial, you can return it.
