Hello all. I am a goldsmith and I recently came across this gold watch. I could not get any information about it on the Omega website, since the archive is currently under construction. All I found is that it is probably from the 19th century and as a goldsmith I am pretty sure the gold wristband was added after it left the Omega factory. Any information on the model, it's name and current estimated worth will be most appreciated.
    Thank you.

We would need to see some pictures to even begin to make a guess. Dial, case and movement for starters.

The Omega website has very little on the early models, since in those days, Omega was more of a movement maker and left the case design to outside firms.

    Hope this helps

Looks like an Omega in the 40's with a 14K custom made case , powered by a 30T2SC . Need to see the movement serial # and inside the caseback to confirm.

Thak you "hoipolloi". The case is marked 18k and indeed looks custom made, but the serial number on the case is 100792 and from what I have seen on the internet that means it's much older, doesn't it ?

It's the movement serial number that will date it, not the case serial number.

Yes, the movement serial # will date the watch, btw, the SC (second-centrale) version means it's not quite old

Now I know the case was made in Argentina :) and that it was made in 1944 (I think).

10 million serial number put this watch production from 1944 to 1947. It is a custom made case from Argentina, so naturally no official reference code in Swiss database.

I didn't check the gold yet but if it is 18k then it's worth about a 1000 US$. Will a collector pay more?

Probably a bit more but not much.... say 10-20%, because the model is not highly sought and out of date in term of style.

Oh, I really like the case. It's a lot of fun, and with the aged dial the piece has a unique charm
