An alternative ending to casino royale.

I just rewatched the poker scene in casino royalty and decided to write an alternative more realistic showdown. Let me know what you think.

It's bond vs le chiffre as the last two players standing. Bonds stack is a little bugger than le chiffres.

The cards are dealt, 2 7 off suit to bond, a pair of aces to le chiffre. Bond is the small blind, and decides to shove all-in like a total donkey. Naturally, le chiffre calls. Its time for a showdown, the cards are shown, le chiffre is in shock, and bond doesn't appear to care.

Out comes the flop, 2 2 7. Bond just flopped a full house. Only an ace can save le chiffre now. The turn is dealt, it's a 4, no good. The river, an 8. Bond wins, and saves the day.

I think that would have been more dramatic, and also enraged le chiffre more at losing an aa v 27o head to head. What do you think?

Deus ex machina: pure luck saves the day for Bond. Not sure why he would go all in with a 2 and a 7. The reveal is more dramatic but would the overall scene make sense?

In the movie he stayed with 5 7 suited post flop, despite not hitting anything. Going all in on 2 7 off suited isn't that unusual. Plus I think it's funnier for bond to act like a complete idiot and still win.

Like winning by le chiffre getting a horrendous bad beat after bonds donkey play.

Bond knows how to read LeChiffre. Would he bluff knowing that LeChiffre has a strong hand? 5 7 suited is risky but it's not bluff. 2 7 off suited is bluff.

Yeah, but isn't it funnier watching the villain lose to a horrendous bad beat?

No… they should have stuck with baccarat, as in the books and other movies.

You don't think Bond would be a champion poker player as well as baccarat?

I just like to imagine bond going all in on like 66 v 88, and hitting his 1 outer on the river, then seeing le chiffre do a Phil hellmuth style blow up.

Then we need Le Chiffre to say "He called a raise with 7 2 honey". Then say to the dealer, "that's some mighty fine dealing."

That film can`t be rescued! Worst Bond movie by far. Action film with card-playing and a medical crisis?? And the ball torture scene, who enjoys that? The opening was good though, I liked the parkour.

Also good to see Daniel Craig go, wont miss that grumpy old Bond and his "feelings" and "troubled inner life". Time for a real Roger Moore type Bond actor, we need a larger than life, humorous character in these troubled times.
