Who loves the thickness of a Planet Ocean! Especially the GMT. Love a big heavy watch! ImageUploadedByTapatalk1415753404.908472.jpg

While I doubt you're the only one, I'm on the other side of the fence. Other than my Breitling Chrono Cockpit and Seiko Pepsi (neither of which could or should be worn with a dress shirt), all my watches usually tuck easily under a cuff. Some of them are so thin you'd think they were anorexic.

@swilsm8610 You are not alone. I find myself wearing wacthes that are on both extremes -speaking case's height- I enjoy the 14mm thickness of my IWC Portuguese, but also wear my other watches that are equipped with anorexic cases without having any effect on my sleep. :)

As Bowie one said, 'you're not alone'. I love the solidity and height of my PO and I gave up wearing cuffs a good while ago!

It was a dilemma for me a few years ago when the PO 8500 first came out. I elected to go with the PO2500D because it WAS thinner than the PO8500. Just didn't feel comfortable with the extra thickness.

.....if you wear sporty 70's watches......they are proportionally damn thick that makes 45mm PO feel normal.

After 3 days I am not yet use to the thickness of the PO. In the first image there if the Ploprof, POti, and the Skyfall. I love the Ploprof and have worn it straight for 7-10 days. So the thickness and weight are not issues for me in the case of the Ploprof.

In the second image, it is the POXL 2500 vs the POti.

I need to go back to the Omega boutique and have them change a full size link to the half link and then the watch should fit better. I think this could be one reason I am not happy with the for of the POti. If this does not work, then I may have to sell the POti :(

it's not the thickness alone, it's the balance of the watch against it's height and thickness. The Ploprof feels better because the diameter allows it to sit more evenly on the wrist. the problem is when the watch is a 42mm and the thickness is a little too much for it. then it just doesn't balance right. while the 45.5 might balance well.

Same with the IWC mentioned earlier, it is a very well balanced case to thickness ratio.

On the PO I've had both and my favorite is still the LMLE because it has the looks of the 8500 with the thickness and balance of the 2500. i also have a 2500D 45.5 and love it, although I keep going through stages to sell it because I have to many watches.

I do admit though for the time I had the 8500 42mm I did end up enjoying it a lot. it is a GREAT watch. just have to get used to it.

I like the 8500's heft... I have no problem with the thickness as I rarely wear long sleeves or cuffs... Love the wrist presence of this watch and 9300 speedy... That said, LMLE will still find it's way into my watch box sooner than later....

I wear dress shirts most days and don't have any gripes about the PO 8500's thickness after about two months of wearing. Actually, when I go back and wear my mid-sized Seamaster Professional 300M, it feels slightly deficient. To be fair, however, I've been wearing a chunkier, bigger watch for about the past seven or eight years as I was pretty routinely wearing my Breitling Superocean Steelfish primarily prior to buying my PO.

It's all about the cuffs. Some shirts have room for a big/thick watch, and some don't.

I have the Seamaster chrono diver which is a very thick watch (16mm I think) and I love it. Don't think I would go back to a thinner watch. Means it's on display more ...oh well
