Came across this tidy looking piece f.s. on another forum, if it has already been discussed my apologies. If not and any interest happy to post a link - have to say with no knowledge of these I do like the look
Reference 2627 caliber 353. The problem I see is the crown is from an early model (1952-ish) but the trapezoid shaped date window designates a post 1953 model. If the serial number shows it's from 1953 (or close) I guess it's possible that this combo came from Bienne. Post the link - I'd like to know more about it.
Yep, '52/'53-ish. Not an original box - and the seller is honest about it. I don't like the hand done inscription and the price is steep.
I think there are replacement casebacks around for it, and you could ask Kyle about his source for display back for these screw in cased bumpers.
He's all sold out and can't make any more. Dial looks very clean, maybe it's a replacement dial like those from Watchco? It's a nice watch, but a little too pricey IMO.
That's what I said too. Will cost me $100+ to convert one rather than the $30 I paid for mine. I put it on my Rose Gold 354 and it looks great!
Found an example of the replacement dials with the wide S for the 353/355 reference 2627/2757 date at 6 models:
Guess I'm just not used to seeing the sunburst finish on the 353s/355s. Usually the bumpers that do have the sunburst finish are either redialed or replaced. Could be wrong though.
