Two years ago, a glance at my watch shelf would have revealed a host of microbrands, mostly in dive-style, a dozen or so Valjoux 7750 models in various cases and guises, a good selection of Christopher Ward autos, a few Russian hand winding chronos, at least three modded Vostok Scuba Dudes. Now, there are two Brellum Duobox, one being my "big retirement gift to self" purchase, my lovely opaline AT, a resurrected collection of Seiko 7T34 Flightmasters covering most of the range of colours shipped by Seiko, one of two Ollech & Wajs cased 7750s, a Porsche Design Eterna titanium quartz chrono and two microbrand dive beaters, Independent Watch of Taiwan and Armida. Listed on EBay - I'm too low on the activity count to list them here but you might find them listed by tikkathreebarrels (wonder if I can get away with that....) - are half a dozen or so 7750 wobblers including a Certina and a Tissot PRS, the one with the carbon dial and the 70s style bracelet. On the inbound wish list is an AT Skyfall and the budget for another Brellum Duobox. And pretty much nothing else. I've woken up this morning thinking that it's all becoming a bit "samey" and I'm losing variety. The patient among you will recall that within the space of the last four days I've pondered on buying an Omega quartz or an Omega vintage: clearly (or not) I'm undergoing a period of transition and it is proving a challenge.
Why are there no pictures in this thread? Doesn't ANYONE read the stickies? You can ask for an exception to the 200 post count minimum if you can show positive feedback and a good selling history.
I don't know, do you resemble any of these photos?? If so, contact Dennis for Squirrel therapy. We can bring you back a minimum of 3 years, (maximum ten years).
I think that maybe you you are just becoming more focused in your collecting. I have been selling off quite a few watches and now am now focusing more on pre-WWII Hamilton and Illinois watches. While I've lost some of the oddball variety I had in my collection (Russian watches and a few Swiss cylinder escapements) I have found a better focus. It turns out I just prefer old American made 17 jewel and up movements.
See response to the above for my feeble excuse. But if you insist.... this one's on the "out" shelf I have a good selling history on EBay if that means anything? Have I said I'm there as tikkathreebarrels? Check me out if you like
