I stopped by the 5th avenue boutique in NYC and officially ordered my archive papers from the Omega museum. Now, I have to wait 3-6 weeks. I'm excited! I'm thinking this will enhance the value of my watch.
It seems like a lot of money at first but I doubt many people who order extracts for watches they intend to keep have regretted the decision. It’s a fantastic complement to a vintage watch/set IMO.
Yeah I agree. You might claw the 80 odd quid back that the extract costs, but it's not adding any real value - just a nice addition.
Well on an older piece they may well do as they can point to an unrealised military connection or something else interesting regarding first delivery. They also add some confidence in the legitimacy of the piece bit I don’t personally think they will add a lot to a mid 1980s watch unless of course they point to some special status, ‘prototype dial’ etc. I have an extract ordered for an Ed White. I am hoping it turns out to have been delivered to Elvis Presley or Ho Chi Minh. Or ideally Ed White.
Raynald skiing, Raynald at Olympic Games, Raynald at Baselworld... Expect the Extract signed by the CEO not before April
I recently ordered and got an extract It took, I think, about a month. While it may not increase the value I'm sure it will make it more attractive to any prospective buyer.
