This guy lives close by and caught my attention, I asked a few questions about this gold bumper he calls a pie pan and he sends me a caseback picture showing ref. 2577 which OVD says is a ss case. Opinions please and price range if half-way decent?

He's also selling this connie and doesn't seem to list anything quite right.

The case in question appears hallmarked. 2577s also came in 18k, the data base is often incomplete.
The case and dial appear in decent shape.

The Constellation is a bit more polished and the dial more worn, like not so much.

OVD is far from complete. I saw gold mark in lug which means it supossed to be solid gold. The squirrel and key mark in caseback would be another check point. Do you mind posting caseback picture ?
The dial look original and have interesting numeral mark, it is gold painted rather than applied.

This connie is OK in my view. As Steve said polished and worn (but relatively clean) original dial. Possibly for daily wearer rather than collection. So the price should reflect that, too.

The OVD took out the notes section at the end of the listing which sometimes specified what metal that model came in also. The listing without the notes section is meant to be representative of the model and does not mean that is the only metal for that particular model.

There's the cute squirrel next to 14K 0.585 sign, IMO it is real solid gold.

Good value price? I sort of fancy this bumper and may have a go at it.

For that caliber 351 bumper, expect it to go $800 minimum. Given the condition, it might break $900 easily - or more. Who knows these days with solid gold Omega prices going crazy!

I wouldn't mind at USD 1000. The dial is nice.

Did you get it? Dennis was pretty spot on with his estimate.

I sniped at 886 and I was beat by the next higher increment, so no telling how much the buyer was willing to go.
The buyer has "private" feedback and I don't know enough about ebay to tell much.

Yes who knows what the buyer was willing to pay. Better luck next time then.

I would have paid $896 for it, probably more if I was on the lookout for that particular case and/or caliber. You don't see as good of a caliber 351 specimen but once or twice a year IMO. There are plenty average to good ones, but this was very good to excellent.

(not rubbing it in UB, just stating my point of view)

I hate private feedback. It's cover for a shill. Keep an eye on it - it may be relisted. Don't delete the sold listing, keep it in your 'watch' list.

Yea, great way for seller to find out everybodies max bids and then go back at them, bypassing the incremental bid system. I sent an email thanking for their pix and info, I bet there's a chance this isn't over yet.

Good price for a common watch in uncommonly good condition. Plus the buckle is a nice bonus. Went for a very good price - no more than $200 or so over the melt value of the watch.
