This just in, a Nivada Grenchen 'Wanderer'. My first of two NG alarm watches bought last week. The other is a Travelmaster with the AS caliber (see below). When I saw this one, I couldn't resist; because of its near flawless condition and its very cool Vulcain alarm movement; same one found in the notorious Cricket: Also, the original strap
I know there's at least one other 'Wanderer' in our OF midst... let's see some other Grenchen alarms! @MMMD ? Here's the other Grenchen alarm I bought last week; a Travelmaster. These have the A. Shild movement:
While the Nivada Grenchen marque does "ring a bell" there is no need to be "alarmed", that's a mighty fine example, and "sounds" like it'll be a keeper!
So glad you 'Wandered' this way! Looks like a C-case on that later rendition Travelmaster. Is it much bigger than mine (36mm)?
Now I'm going to cheat a little, and throw in my 3rd NG, a Croton Nivada Grenchen 'Antarctic' that I bought in August for a song on 47th St. in NYC: Has a doozie of a fake croc strap with it, too, but somehow does OK......
You guys inspired me to hit this with a (weak)round of polywatch and scrape some gunk off to wear it for the first time tonight.
Reviving this thread.... has anyone heard of the Penguin model of the Antarctic? I have found a few examples online but nothing too firm. Also have seen different dial variations that say Penguin, Antarctic Penguin etc.
This one is f******* cool! It's currently on sale in @woodwkr2 's site but it's already saved for me if and when he gets it fixed.
