I was thinking of that movie too.

Hmmm never seen that movie before, a youngish Sam Neil and a few cuties too plus a LEXX looking Dragonfly spacecraft. I am torrent downloading it as I type!

Very off-topic but there’s also a fantastic series with some parallels to Event Horizon called The Expanse which I recently watched and it’s probably the best sci fi I’ve seen since Battlestar Galactica ended

The books are fun too! Not the best, most poetic writing... But the plots are awesome if you like hard scifi.

For anyone interested, this is out of context but a good example of how they worked hard to make realistic space ships:

Yea that was what got me into it, the first time they did the flip and burn in episode 1, introducing the use of torch ships and even the medical aspects are remarkably well thought out and realistic

We've been waiting a long time for some random sonar noise to be picked up by a spaceship.

Finally!

Yep the Expanse is certainly the best well thought out piece of SciFi to grace either paper or screen in a long while, the books went further so you need to read the last ones to cap it all off.
What amazed me about the books and screen, it didn't matter which you read or watched, the screen was a faithful representation of the books.
And as for the screen casting, absolutely inspiring.
People go on about the GRR Martin and the G of T but I beleive the best part of that was his writing assistant, Ty Franck.

Hopefully the thing doesn’t cause any damage to the ISS as it departs, it can malfunction as much as it wants once it gets some distance but those thrusters acting up while it’s still nearby would be pretty horrible.

Makes me worry about that scenario from Polaris in From All Mankind at the risk of another sci fi derailing.

Yes wouldn't want that! And yes that would remind me of Interstellar as the drop ship docks with the spacecraft and disintegrates it.
