aftermarket strap for midsize bond?

    All -

Brand new to this forum (and fairly new to this insane hobby), and looking for a little advice.

Although I was definitely punching out of my weight class on this one, I had to pull the trigger on a midsize bond I found at an estate sale. The only issue, however, is that it came on an aftermarket leather strap. Most definitely a proverbial "first world" problem, but I really want to put this one a metal bracelet. But even though the price point was right, I'm in deeper than I should be and just can't afford an OEM replacement bracelet from Omega.

Thus, my question is this: will I be turning this beautiful watch into a dreaded "Frankenstein" by buying an affordable, third-party metal bracelet?

Some people swap out their bracelet to keep the original in good condition, or you you could try leather. Sometimes they look better on leather and loads cheaper.
