    still on a quest to find my first vintage Omega...I desperately need some advise to on a few I came across. Sorry about the image quality on some. Redials or not? Thanks!

    1. Original, but crown is replacement.
    2. Not sure, but ugly anyway.
    3. Original, but hands look wrong.
    4. Can't tell from the picture
    5. Probably a redial, and hands are wrong, too.

    Agreed with gator - except I'll go out on a limb and call #4 okay. I think #3 should have hands like #4 does.

    Gut reaction is that it is original and has a slight "chocolate" finish, caused by natural degradation of the dial lacquer. Here is an example

    But I still can't be sure. I think the crown is a replacement.

    Black dials are notoriously difficult to photograph. That's just the way it is.
