APOLOGIES FOR PICS!! Hopefully getting sent a few less white washed ones.
Just after thoughts and advise on this Ed White. The dealer has told me it’s a later bracelet and bezel insert.
I live on the UK and this is from a UK dealer. Ideally would like to stick with a UK seller because of costs and pitfalls involved. He’s after £11,000.
Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Chrono hand has been replaced. Crown too. You know the bezel is wrong. Dial doesn’t look damaged, but it’s also not particularly attractive (Natural light shots would indicate more). IMO bracelet doesn’t add much value. For 11k on this one, I think you should expect a correct bezel (that will set you back another 2k+), and then that would depend on how attractive or not the lume is.

11k GBP could buy you a fairly nice, correct Ed White these days (though not on original bracelet). This one's a pass for me

Use a simple photographic ‘editing suite’ to reveal far more detail in the watch

Irrespective…this feels expensive to me…for what is being offered

I know 105.003 Speedmasters are pricey, but I think you can get a better pre-moon Speedmaster than that for £11,000. You could get 105.012 or 145.012 that is correct for that money. Do you specifically want an Ed White?

£12,800 on Speedmaster101 for a 'Good' example of a 105.003-65. Gonna cost more than £1,800 to sort that out.

In that price range I think I would expect correct bezel and maybe a "period" correct bracelet. Is 24xxxxxxx serial number correct for this reference?.

Yes the number is fine for a 1966-67 model but I agree that is a £7-8K watch being over sold. With the right bezel and hands I may think differently. Regardless, I would expect and require an extract before parting with that kind of cash just to be sure.

The bezel alone kills this for me at that price.

I did think the bezel would be the killer but hoping other pics might show better details

Open to all sorts to be fair. 105.012, 145.012 etc. Must be stepped bezel and have nice patina on hour batons. Ideally under 10k

Those are horrific pics from a dealer. Jesus Christ. Isnt part of the benefit of buying online from a dealer that they provide clear, concise pictures of the items for sale?!?

Anyway, that's not an £11k watch. Even if the dial is very good (which we have no idea of from those shit photos), the lack of a correct bezel, bracelet and hands prevent it from getting near that price.

To compare, my Ed White is unpolished, with an undamaged dial, yellow lume and original everything down to the hands, crown and 1035 as I bought it from the original owner (it has correct service pushers installed but I have the originals). I'd only expect that to go for around £11k (although it's not for sale!).

Best advice is always to watch the private sale section of this forum. This is where you’ll find the best Speedies at reasonable prices.

Thanks for all the advise gentlemen.
I may pull back to something a little more sensible like a 145.022, when I say sensible I mean cost wise! Haha. This will be my first speedy so it’s gotta be right as it can be.

This 145.022 might be more like it? Recently serviced by STS.

In that case jumping straight in with a vintage one is brave. In your situation I would probably get a modern model like a 3570 or FOIS just to make sure I actually liked the design.

Edit: just saw the one above, 145.022-69 presumably, that does look good...

Haha not if I have anything to do with it.

I'm in a phase where I'm trying out loads of other 50's/60's Omegas, buying them, wearing for a bit then selling those that aren't floating my boat, but my Speedmasters won't be going anywhere.
