Hi, just got my Seamaster 300 and on the hunt again. Got offerd this nice Citizen 68-5372. It's from the beginning 70s and i think it's in good condition. Bracelet is Citizen, but not original to this watch. Is it woth picking up and what value do you estimate for this watch?

    Hi Jurgen,

Have a visit to this page and you'll find a wealth of information on the Citizen diver range. Yours appears correct and would appear to be this one on the page:

Price wise it's best to check eBay and look for sold listings.

(Information and photos are by Stephen of the Sweephand blog.)

Hmm, I'd hazard that the dial is a replacement then. Never say never though, ask for a closer dial picture.

    Listing for comparison:

The seller has already confirmed and asked me what I would like to spend. The originally estimated price is lapsed. Have just sent a mail to Citizen service and asked if there are still service dials.

Would it actually be possible to reprint the minute indices?

These are nice watches, but they do appear with reasonable regularity on the market. I would recommend waiting for a good, original one that fits your budget.

How can you tell that the dial can be a replacement? What you look for?

Edit: I found this video @bikehomero

    Actual found this offer:

https://www.ebay.com/itm/RARE-GENTL...m=112988086316&_trksid=p2509164.c100903.m5276Purchases made through these links may earn this site a commission from the eBay Partner Network

I think this is much to high, istn't it?

There are two finished auctions from Italy as well at € 400,00. My offer was at € 350,00 and i think i can get it with this defect much cheaper. Is there a market value for this sort of watch?

Mainly with the Citizen divers, at least from the one I used to own, a couple I've seen in collector's hands and the blog I linked to, all of them have minute markers.

    My one for reference:

    A fellow collectors:

Again, market value is highly variable. I don't believe it's a 1300EURO watch though.

    Thanks for the explanation.
Yes the bikehomero's Citizen has no minute markers.
I did not see that before you pointing it out.

yup those minute markers are washed away with a try at cleaning the dial, I have a 62.6198 from feb 74(probably one of the first, as they started production of that ref in 74) with the same problem but not that severe.

that bezel insert is a replica though, I would stay away if there are already this much problems I would bet that the crown isn't kosher too.

yours is from march 73, in that condition I wouldn't pay more than 75€.
bought my 100% original 62.6198 including bracelet for 150€ and my 52-0110 for 60€, maybe you could use that as a comparison;)

if you plan on getting that minute track refinished I would be interested in that too.

edit: look at the height of the bezel insert it is sticking out, it supposed to be flush with the case screen-shot-2014-04-05-at-18-57-56.png
