So I saw this eBay listing pop up yesterday

http://www.ebay.com/itm/1965-Omega-...523668?hash=item25d93e3914:g:HxwAAOSwvjdZRVkKPurchases made through these links may earn this site a commission from the eBay Partner Network

I should have bought it as it was only $7800 USD. The lume on the dial scared me away and waited until I got to my PC to get a better look as I was searching on my phone. By the time I got to my PC it was gone.

The advice needed is, was this a great find? Would you have pulled the trigger on this watch for this price. I've been kicking myself for not purchasing this.

If it can help, it does not have n°6 end links. So you can stop kicking yourself in a week or so.

I'm afraid it was a major bargain imho. Dial lume actually looks pretty nice.

Excellent value - would have cleaned up pretty well in my opinion.
    Shame you missed it.

Agreed, for me this is the kind of Watch at a price where I'd be prepared to clear my diary, jump on a plane and go and collect. - and normally I'm the least impulsive, most cautious individual around these parts!

I'm currently fantasising about the road trip that could have been, Heathrow to San Francisco and a fantastic car journey up 101 to Eureka

    Ouch. Nice one.

Poor photography combined with eBay's complete lack of interest in serving/hosting quality images combine to make finds like this possible. Heavily scratched crystals also help.

When the next one glides by, will you be ready to trust your instinct?

Yeah I agree. I have been studying the Speedmaster101 site for a while and now know the correct bezels and dials to look for.

Man, the lume on that one is such an interesting shade. I can't remember ever seeing one like that. Makes you wonder how it got that way.

As others have said, this looks to have been a great buy (sorry). Case is still thick, movement is in good shape, and the DON bezel is in great shape. Lume shade isn't my cup of tea, but for that price, I'd love it. Keep your head up though, as @Spacefruit said, they're still out there!

I managed to snag this one while sitting on the beach in Pacifica yesterday. Blind luck that I saw it. Will post some pictures when it arrives and spends some time at the spa. I'm betting the lume looks much better than in the photos.

Fantastic that is good news!! A bit of beach casting, that is a great eBay fishing technique indeed. Really glad it went to one of our own. I can't wait to see your photos.

Glad it went to a member here!

Important question: Are you going to drive up to Eureka to pick this up and post pictures of redwoods? ;)
