Dear Wis, I am close to decide upon buying a 1967 105.003 Ed White. It has Omega certificate dating back to 2013 and was recently fully serviced. Comes with original dial, hands and bezel but the bracelet is an OE replacement. Have a look at these two pics with the watch on my wrist. Any comments, suggestions, recommendations, warnings.... Planning to decide within 10 days.
It's not my first Speedy but would be my first vintage one.

The dial looks to have a slight brownish tint which is quite nice. It's likely to be a '65 so check the movement serial number is correct for the range. Crown and pushers are service replacements. Handset looks correct. Case looks to have been refinished also but the lugs are still nice and thick. Correct bezel which is probably original to the watch. How is the caseback and what is the asking price?

Have a look here, plenty of valuable info

Looks pretty good if a bit lived in. At a guess serial should be mid-high 24m for a 1967 105.003-65. The light may be flattering the brown tint. My -65 would look quite brown in those circs but black indoors so don’t pay evtra for the brown unless it is noticeable.

Thank you for all your input. I unfortunately did not take a pic of the casebook. It had some transparent service sticker on it. Parts that have been replaced are included in the deal. Serial number is backed up by the Omega certificate placing it as 1967 production year. Asking price is approx $16K / €14K with a little room for negotiation I feel (I may trade in something as well). What do you think, reasonable price or overrated?

Thank you. Correct, serial is a 24.535.... And yes, the brown is far less visible indoors. Asking price in this condition, including 12 months warranty, is $16K. Reasonable?

http://speedmaster101.com/price-chart-2/ reckons a head-only -65 would be $17k for "Good", down to $8.5k for "Running". The watch in question is short of Good, by the look of it, so I'd price accordingly.

Thanks for your reaction. And this one comes with the OE service bracelet so price seems correct to me as well.

What is the "OE service braclet" - what reference on the clasp and end links?

The Ed White should have a flat link bracelet that would be worth >$1k on its own, perhaps several times that, if it was in good condition and had the right end links. I would suggest for the purposes of valuing the watch in question, the bracelet it's wearing be considered not worth anything. Start at $17k and then think - is the bezel "good"? The colour of the hands, while original, are they "good"? The dial looks nice, but is the lume even and "good"? The case has been polished a bit... etc

    Personally, I'd be inclined towards $12-14k ...

Bracelet looks like a 1125/617. Introduced in the 70s and available brand new for £325 so don’t add much in for that (it’s not original). I too think it is overpriced by about $3-4k but then I am tight with money!

No way is that a "good" watch on @Spacefruit's scale. I'd say individually every component is between 'running' and 'good', which plonks you around 12.5k. You might add a botextra as it appears original but you'd need extra pictures etc to satisfy yourself of that.

Either way, in a private sale it's not yet a 16.5k watch.

Who serviced it and is there a receipt? This may add (or detract value).

Also I assume it's from a dealer? You're unlikely to see 'cheap' Speedmasters from dealers anymore.

Yes, there is a receipt and proof of service. Also all replaced parts are included and exchanged by genuine Omega parts. It is indeed offered by a dealer of vintage watches and comes with a 12 months warranty. Guess a realistic value should be situated somewhere between $14K and $16K.

13-14K usd IMO, but as said above its at a dealer so that won't be happening. Hold fire and wait for something to pop up on here?

Think I agree with @Davidt on value. For me those lume plots look dirty and dial tired.
For that price you can do better with patience.
