    Hi,

I'm looking to find me a descent vintage speedy and found this 145.022 -69 st. It's newly served at Omega where they replaced the hands, crown, pushers and a few movement parts. All the old parts will be part of the deal. No bracelet. Serial 30xx. Asking price is $3700. I know the pictures are crappy but what do you guys think? Does it seem legit and original? Is the service hands a dealbreaker? Should I look for another?

    Thanks

Nice looking watch. The serial is definitely period correct for a '69 as is the step dial. The case seems a bit polished, but for the price I wouldn't worry much. Looks like all the original parts are included in the sale, whichs is very important. No DON bezel, which the early '69's came with. Lastly, with the bonus of a recent service, I see nothing wrong with pulling the trigger.

I generally think the asking price is fair. For me, I would like to see a crisper case but maybe it's just the photos. Looks very wearable.

This is a rare "220" bezel, meaning the bezel is marked 220 where it should say 200. These trade at a slight premium to regular DNN 145.022-69s. Overall it looks good - will look better if you can get the original hands refitted - and I think the price is pretty good too. If I were in the market for a (-nother) 220, I'd be happy to pick this one up.

Even factoring the cost for original hands, it's a buy for me.

Don't pass it up at the price. If you pass, PM me the sellers info. I'll grab it. :D

Pull the trigger, it's globally in rather good condition. The hands should be changed for a few hundred dollars. The price is really decent and on taht point you can make no big mistake.

I won't name names, but a prolific poster with the initials MKWS at WUS, a self-proclaimed expert, had me laughing out loud. "The case is from 1969," he said, "while the movement is from 70 or 71. This difference is acceptable in a mass production environment, where components can come from a few years apart, blah blah blah."

    Oh my god.......

What about the relume he talk about? When I look at the picture I see that the lume is a bit uneven?

The real experts here will chime in later, but the lume looks good to me. If it glows for a few seconds after exposure to a bright light, it's very likely original.

IMG_1754.JPG IMG_1755.JPG IMG_1757.JPG IMG_1761.JPG Now it's to late anyway because the watch is sitting on my arm :)
Sitting on a shaky train but this is what I were able to shoot. Still a good buy?

But if those Wus guys had been a little bit faster I hadn't started this thread and I probably hadn't bought the watch.
