wife’s uncle was a collector of antique clocks and had some pocket watches and the watch in the pictures below. Some of his stuff is valuable others he bought to be funny ( he liked to call you over to look at his Rolex which was obviously fake) I am wondering if it’s a legitimate Seamaster. I have been looking at watches on the internet and they all have a second hand which this watch does not have. I would appreciate you thoughts on this watch. Thanks

Yes there was, it's just missing.

 

Bracelet unlikely to be original. It would probably look better on leather anyway. Seems relatively unpolished, which is good.

 

The black smudges near the hour hand and between the 7-8 hour markers are on the dial or the front window (i.e. crystal)?

 

The bracelet is a speidel so no its not original. I agree leather black leather would class it up. Thanks.

 

They’re not on the outside of the crystal. When you tilt the watch it appears they could be on the underside of the crystal and not on the dial
