Hello all. Looking for more information about these omega chronographs. How much do these go for now? And are they collectible?

Thanks in advance.

Reference is OT 2872 Calibre 320, mine's from 1958 in 18K rose gold, not hugely collectable and they have a big weakness in that the pushers are square and have no sealing at all. As a result not only are they NOT waterproof, they're not humidity resistant or dust resistant either, anything can get in past the pushers.

Nice watches to wear though and they get a lot of compliments.

Sorry im thinking of buying
All good, just wanted to understand why you were asking.

I agree with @dsio. Beautiful watches, but not to be worn often! Make sure you get a photo of the movement to check what condition it is in.

Not that much, I bought mine a couple of years ago for 2200USD, saw a similar one go for 3700 recently.

Just be very careful with these as there can be a lot of corrosion you cant immediately see like the inner steel pushers which are impossible to buy replacement parts for, you need to have new ones custom manufactured (pic below original snapped corroded one on left, new one a watchmaker made for me on the right.)

It took nearly a year and a half to get mine to work because of issues that weren't initially visible related to the poor water resistance of the pushers. Many have also had parts replaced and dial cleaning / refinishing for the same reason. The one you're looking at does look original from that pic but might be worth posting some better shots.

Btw does the seamaster 321 have the same issue with the pushers being not waterproof or dustproof?

Well they're not great water resistance wise but they're dramatically better than these are, any round/pumper pusher is better than one of these square ones that just "floats" in the hole in the case with an air gap around the edge.

thank you very much for helpful advices. i think the seamster 321 would be a smarter choice then in terms of parts availability and usability. thanks once again!

They are beautiful watches, smaller and dressier. Information above is right on.

I have one in yellow gold. It's a nice deeper gold tint than other gold watches - very attractive. Been looking for a proper crown for some time. Great watch but as dsio mentioned, this is not a daily wearer. (Picture from seller.)

That could be a deal breaker for me as i try to wear my vintage watches as often as possible. I think they are meant to be worn n enjoyed and not just stowed away.

Me too, I have a stainless steel one, taken it for service at Omega and hardly worn it coz I do worry about having moist slips in coz I sweat a bit...

It did not refrain Tom Cruise of wearing one in War of the Worlds (see at 6.13 mins), although that is a version with 3 subdials...
(and he had to tick the watch to be sure it was still working...😗 )

There's a scene in War of the Worlds where Tom is looking into a mirror, lamenting the possible loss of his daughter. He's trying so hard to act it looks like his face might break.

Don't even get me started on The Last Samurai.

I believe the watch Tom Cruise is wearing in War of the Worlds is a Seamaster cal.321
