    Hi everyone!

Picking up following speedmaster from 1965.
Looks quite stunning although also here some concerns regarding the lumes (relumed), looks to good IMO. Bezel en dial seems original with correct 24 teeth crown. Double step case back and correct serial number. Hands are also fine.
    What do you think?

Everything seems to be correct on this one, much better choice than your previous post.

Case is a bit rounded. Need better pics of the dial, but st first blush, looks like a decent relume job. As long as the price is adjusted to reflect the condition, you should be fine.

Agree with you, especially about the lume job. It looks nice enough but this darker color is rarely seen on tritium speedmasters (esp 105.012). Depends on price...

I would say it is not relume..
Not an expert, but maybe it is not relume.

Hello guys... I am new to this world so I might ask some stupid questions ::facepalm1::

when the lume is so dark like this, will it still glow under the UV light, so if I bought similar Speedy, should I consider the outcome from the UV light test after purchase, or is it too aged/dark that it is pointless to apply the UV light on it.

and in this cases, is there any other way to check if the lume is aged/ or just a paint?

    Will appreciate any help.

    Thanks,
    Mohamed

Is the operation of the hour register a concern?

You know..in case there is no lume or partly lumed, this creates sceptism and affects the value of the watch. In case it’s relumed (and thus non original) it also has a negative impact on value perception. My point is, the ideal world, original lumes in good vintage shape, is hard to find..price should be corrected in case it’s heavily damaged or relumed..

I am no expert, but I can swear (with the low res sunset-lit pick) I can see 'clouds' on the dial around the lume plots, which is typically what we have seen here on relume jobs (i.e. scraped lume residue, or something like that). That in combination with the dark colour not usual for tritium, and the fact that there is no front-on-normal-light-pick of the dial like all the others (as there I am certain we would see that better). As usual, I may be wrong.

If I were a betting man, I'd put my money on 'relume'. There is still lume bleeding onto the dial. I'd be more than happy for someone more experienced and with better eyes (i.e. who has seen more) to correct me.

Agree with you, for a watch of 55 years old, it simply looks to good..On the other hand, the reluming job has been done quite well to me.
Price should be adjusted for this. In case only the hands were relumed I would feel much more comfortable..

Well @eugeneandresson, (as you know) I've only ever seen one of these, but at a quick glance, It looks to me like the plots and possibly the Chrono hand have been re-lumed.::confused2::

Very nice of you to say so Eugene.::shy::

On the subject of this 105.012-65. Is anyone going to tell us how much the vendor wants for it? (Or failing that) what a fair price for it would be?::confused2::

If it is a relume I'd say it was done way back, seller says the hour sub dial isn't working correctly! - the bids are creeping up slowly sitting at 6589 Euros this morning, no mention that the movement number is only 1468 before Neils for me that's a nice plus.

The fact the movement is not working properly concerns me, since parts are hard to find in case needed. Moreover, plots have been relumed and there is no extract. 7k would be the max, 8k overvalued. The dial indices simply looks not original
