I am in a similar situation. I just purchased an SMP but the newer model though (2220.80). I have seen your model go for anywhere between 1200 to 1500 depending on the condition. I cannot figure out if its authentic or not. You will have to take it to a jeweler to authenticate it. The warranty card is blank because the watch was initially purchased from a gray market dealer and not from an AD( which should not be a deal breaker).

The watch is real, not the best condition but not terrible either for a 2531.80. I actually like this one a lot as not only is it quite sharp, but its a VERY early one with the coffee-ish patina to the lume, and comes with an extract from the archives indicating its now 20 years old.

Normally I wouldn't be saying go buy the oldest version but in this case its actually cool

dsio, I don't really know anything about Seamaster's, but I'm confused by one thing on this watch. The ebay auction title says its a Co-Axial movement, but as you point, the watch is circa 1994. My understanding from this document, is that the co-axial movement was first introduced by Omega in 1999... wouldn't that make it a cal 1120? can you shed some light on this, is the item mis-labeled?

It is clearly mislabeled. The coaxial 2500 movement was introduced in the SMP around 2006 ( I believe) and the reference number is 2220.80.

Sorry I meant to paste the link to another watch but didn't, here's the 1994 one:

Yea most likely the seller made an honest mistake googling for the watch and taking the information off Omega's website. Both the original post and the one I pasted above are non-coaxial

Thanks guys, that clears up my confusion.... I thought you may have neglected to include a link dsio, context was pretty clear you were referring to an alternative piece.
