    Hi All,

I just joined this forum to discover the world of Omega and hopefully learn more about the craftsmanship, if you bare with me :)

To start up I would appreciate advice on a possible first Omega purchase. Thanks in advance!

    Seller’s description:
    Omega Seamaster from 1971.
    Price: 500 EUR
Untouched Omega in original. Just been through a service and works as intended. Original box and paper from purchase included.

Well if those are after service shots, the seller is a liar

Dirty movement, gasket crap all over the place, crap and old dna all over the case front etc etc

Not sure what you mean by papers either - an old newspaper cutting is not “papers”

Ok, so I guess the advice is to look at something else?! :)
Thanks, but do you know if there is a thread describing what to look for to get an honest deal?

The ‘paper’ seem to be of some kind of purchase in 1994. Doesn’t mean a thing.

You did well in investigating before you invested! That watch has potential in the right hands, but it most assuredly isn’t a €500 watch, in its present condition. Yuck!

Thanks, I did, but I guess I have a long way of sharpening my skills.
Thanks for your appraisal. The hunt for my first watch goes on. I might start a new thread for people that want to help me with the hunt.
