These are some that I am looking at. My concern is, are they authentic, have the been spruced up/re-finished. They look very clean for their age. And if they have, in fact, been re-finished, do the asking prices accurately reflect their value?

All overpriced, all redialed, all bad. If you want any opinions please post an actual picture rather than a link. Have a look at the forum marketplace, it will be a much better time than looking on eBay if you are inexperienced.

For everyone else. here are the pictures:

:) There are many choices on Ebay...albeit, it seems from the comments, that most are the opposite of a good deal

Where is the forum marketplace people have referenced? Is the marketplace just a reference to informal deals between forum members or is there an actual place on this site where people list watches?

You must be an established member with 200 posts to sell a watch, but it is a great place for anyone to buy a watch.
We try to minimize the monkey-business here.
What are your tastes, what are you looking for?

Ebay is like a carnival, with many freaks, sideshows and con-artists. Occasionally, there is also a legitimate display.

I love vintage watches, circa 1950s/1960s. I own two vintage wristwatches, both of which were my grandfather's. One is a completely original wind-up Marvin (I still have the original box). The watch is from the 50s in absolute original condition and still keeps perfect time. The face and case are weathered as would be expected with a watch has been worn for 60+ years. I have been toying around with the idea of having the dial re-finished but maybe I will hold off doing that. The second vintage watch I own is an Omega Seamaster, circa 1967, with a refinished dial. The mechanism and case are original but the dial was re-finished. Ohh well. I got it for free and I don't think that my grandfather paid very much for it (bought it back in Czechoslovakia in the 60s for peanuts). I would like to get a few original Omega wristwatches from the 50s/60s. There are many many on Ebay but, based on what I have been reading on this forum, many are overpriced, in particular, in light of the fact that many have refinished dials and/or cases. I do not have the trained eye to discern an original from a well done re-finished so that is why I decided to ask the experts on here.

The Seamaster is not a well-done redial.

Honestly, to me, not having much experience with Omegas/dials, it looks fine. It was not until someone pointed out the E in Omega that I noticed that the middle line in the E is off. To the untrained eye a lot of the dials that have been refinished, I suspect, look fine.

It's not just the dial. Look at the hands. What do the hands have that is missing on the rest of the dial?
