Hello, first time posting here, but a regular on WatchUSeek. I am in search of a pre-moon 105.012 Speedy. I found this one and it ticks all my boxes, but wanted to get more thoughts before I commit to buy. Is there anything I should be concerned about? The price is $7700, so not on the cheap side.

    Appreciate all thoughts and feedback.

    Tom

It looks largely correct, in that everything that should be there for this reference, is there, except the replacement crown. Pushers, bezel, dial (assuming wide T's), caseback are all correct.

The case is polished, the facets are still present, but most of the edges are softened significantly. What's left of the lume looks original but pieces are missing. Hands could also be original.

In the current market, the price probably isn't a million miles away, but I couldn't live with the case.

Edit: I should add that the movement looks correct, but I can't make out the serial.

Agree. The sharpness of the special 105.012-66 CB case is of paramount inportance

+1, that case would wear on me.. it's too polished.

as David mentions, be sure to verify the wide spaced T's and the movement number against the various references, notably www.speedmaster101.com and/or Moonwatch Only.

Thanks everyone. The case is bothering me as well. My gut says to walk away and be patient. If anyone sees a nice 105.012 (any year or caseback), let me know. I'm itchin' to buy.

It appears to be the correct spacing on the T's but I wonder what happened to the right T?

Seems like the crown has been replaced. The 'skinny' Omega-logo would be correct for this reference.

Walk away... nothing worse than an overpolished case, let alone on a CB.

In the first picture the CB facets seem pretty clear. Also has a clean DON insert.

    Wrong dial - too early.

I have a cb case speedy.
It's a replacement crown, appeared not to be really fit.

Early in the days, many thought that flat lugs of cb case is not an original omega case design. so owners or service centers smoothened and rounded the sharp edges. thus lost their value aside from its limited production year.

Subsequent pics show the dial has narrow T's and therefore incorrect. This ref should have the single step case-back (which it does) and the wide spaced T's (which it doesn't).

Mine has the spaced T's and others I have seen have the spaced T's. But I read in MWO p286 that 'Dial ref B2 Close T (rare)' was listed as an option?

I'm reasonably sure that all -66 CB's should have wide space T's.

Always interested if anyone has evidence suggesting otherwise though.

Most -66 CBs I've seen have wide-spaced Ts, but narrow Ts are OK too. I don't think there's a hard and fast rule
