Advice on Omega Seamaster acrylic crystal.

I just got this Seamaster. I knew it had a couple of issues. This photo shows my question. These marks run in the crystal starting at about 4 o’clock and run all the way around past 11. But only along the outer rim, not in the main face. Is this some sort of stress cracking. It doesn’t really appear like scratching normally would. If it is stress cracking any idea what the cause would be. If it’s cracking I would imagine it won’t buff out. Thanks in advance.

Its called crazing- common with vintage original crystals. Look for any larger cracks. It may improve a bit with polywatch but generally not much. If you are having watch services just replace the crystal. Many like it and consider it part of the life of the watch, but it can indicate brittleness and compromize water resistance.

It's the structure of the acrylic crystal breaking down, mainly due to UV light and age, this causes the polymer bonds to seperate and make the plastic brittle. If the crazing is extensive you risk damage to hands and dial if you get a good bump on the crystal and it cracks.
Best option is to replace the crystal.
