Is it possible that prices have risen again since 2023 while the quality of the watches offered has decreased?
Prices have gone up, but why should quality decrease? These watches are still > 60 years old.

Arguably, examples in good condition have always been somewhat rare. Even during 2020-2023, it's not like there were watches with perfect cases and dials on auction on eBay every minute of every day. Prices have gone up, but quality examples seem to be just as rare as ever.

I was referring to the quality of the watches that are offered. Perhaps good examples are traded less frequently because people prefer to hold onto them? On the other hand, it's possible that more cobbled-together examples are being produced and appearing on the market? I simply find that the selection in many places is quite poor: bad watches for a lot of money. But perhaps it's always been like that?

Some patience is required and has been for years. I don’t think it’s become significantly worse tbh - if you just check eBay thoroughly every Monday you’ll have found an auction for a sharp dogleg within a few months to half a year or so.

If you’re ok to buy from a dealer you can have an example now.

I’d call that pretty great availability in the sphere of vintage watches…

When searching for one of these OP it’s important not to disregard the slightly earlier transitional references of these Connie’s in 14900 (no date) and 14902 (date) form. My two examples below. Admittedly they’re not as common as the later refs but don’t exclude them from your search and potentially narrow the pool of quality watches you might be able to find.
