I saw this at the weekend and just got some good pictures. It's a ref 167.005 with original box and papers. Movement number is 25599690 and everything looks good to me. They are asking £1500 for it which seems a bit steep, though I'm sure they will come down a bit. I've posted the pics and am hoping for a few comments.

Looks good, I like these domed Connie's almost more than the pie pan's, very clean look

The numeral indexes have a unique font, quite nice actually

Good luck with negotiations if you proceed, my domed 14381 cal 551 says hi!

    $2,200 for a non-pie pan Constellation! :confused::eek:

More that a bit steep. It's about double market price. Nice dome dials go for the $1,000 range in the US and I'm being generous I think.

Even if you take off the 20% VAT from above and add our local sales tax it still doesn't make sense.

Picked one up for $750 US even with onyx markers a few months ago.
As gatorcpa said more than double the going rate.

Posted it today on WRUW a few hours ago.

Personally ,for constellation, I would prefer cal 354 and cal 551 the most
and this one with cal 551 plus numeral index for this price
I think it's very very expensive.

not quite double the price in Blighty I'm afraid....but not far off and still very expensive -even with the box and papers
this is a lovely dial -I hope the dark marks are on the crystal
-very unusual with the arabic quarter numbers (not seen one like this on a dog leg - or so late) bit of a rarity
    nice fonts
    original (style) crown
decent case - just a little polished -but still nice lugs
    what is the medallion like?
    movement looks nice and clean
very late 551 -although they were used into '67 I believe for 167.015s
167.005/551s started around '62 -but I don't know how long they ran for

at auction max £700 all in
    Ebay £800+
Box and papers do add a bit (£100?)
    Retail -name your price

    hope that helps

Black dial version of 167.005 551. Pit about the over polish and new crown.

What would reasonable price to pay for this? They are looking £1600

Redial over polished, would not buy it...

These are the things that shiney shiney watch noobs buy and come here down the track and think they are worth more than they paid two years ago and get upset when we tell them it's worth $200

wow...appreciate the heads-up...it was too good to be true then.

What is the telltale sign that this is a redial.

Yes it does help Philip. The medallion is quite worn, but I agree the case is nice. I thought maybe £1000. Unfortunately the seller will only drop to £1400.
