Good afternoon from a wet and windy Cornwall.

I have absolutely zero experience of bracelets, I don't like the things and I have always worn my watches with a leather strap. Therefore, when one came along with an Omega that I recently bought (not the 6518 - the bracelet on that was a Spiedel and it went into the bin) I thought I would just clean it up and sell it. It is an Omega S/S bracelet to suit 18mm lugs -

But, I see from other threads here that Omega bracelets generally have an ID number which is three or four figure. On mine, it just says "No 12" on the clasp, as you can see -

The end pieces have "570" stamped on them. Can you advise on whether this bracelet is genuine Omega, and why it only has "No 12" stamped on it? As I am trying to sell it, and I really don't want to misrepresent anything.

Thanks in advance for your help

This is a genuine Omega bracelet and there are many examples of genuine bracelets that are only marked with the 12 (I have at least 3 different ones) and I believe these were produced in the US. Since the end links are marked with a 570, using that as a clue you find that these were used with the ref 1037 bracelet. Looking at images of 1037 - they appear to be similar to yours. Here is a listing to a 1037 with pictures:

Brilliant, Joe, thank you so much. I listed the bracelet on eBay three days ago, and then had terrible doubts about whether it might be a fake of some sort. The 1037 does indeed look pretty much identical to mine.

I got a little tired of seeing the shark. Its enough that I have to see them whenever I go diving. I was using Beaker as a place holder, but I really like the image you posted. Can I use that?

Absolutely! I love the Muppets. Sesame Street too. Did you know it only takes a couple of well placed squiggly lines to turn a beloved character into an angry curmudgeon?

Try it on Beaker - it's funny as hell! Here's the same image, just cropped and eye-browed:

Sad but true... I went a whole year without logging onto a forum.... Life was easy... I didn't "need" anything new in my collection..... I thought I was finally cured..... Now I'm right back where I started before rehab....:p

Just to update you and round this thread off. The bracelet sold on eBay for £87 GBP - roughly $140 USD - which I was quite happy with :)
