    Hello members
First time poster, long time stalker.
I've read through your sticky on buying vintage omega and have researched this model on Google.
I believe that it is legit. Numbers match up, movement looks Ok, but I can't find any reference to a white dial version mechanical 601.
    Would appreciate any advice

Vintage Omega watches would come in many color and style dials with the same reference number.

Does the dial have "SWISS MADE" or " T SWISS MADE T" under the 6:00 index?

    Potential redial. CAREFUL!
It should have at least the "SWISS MADE" the "T" indicates the presence of tritium (lume) on the dial and hands..

The picture quality is not that good, but it appears that the watch was polished as well.

Also, note the printed markers are black without any lunminuous material. It could well be that the hands have been changed on this, hence T would not appear.

A good close-up of the dial is needed to confirm the dial is original. I suspect though it may have been refinished.

Thank you. The seller has assured me the dial is original and not refurbished in any way ( as I'm sure they would!). They also stated that they only use PayPal and I have buyer protection available as piece of mind.
It's clear there is no " swiss made" on the dial though.

Right. Well if the dial is original the hands have been swapped for luminous ones. Not easy to get plain stick hands for Dynamics of the thickness required any more[

Are the hands luminous ? They just look plain to me. Or is the channel there filled with lume ?

Yes the hands are skeletonised and filled with Tritium.

Save your money. I just saw the listing. At $600 delivered you can do better. For some reason cal 601 Dynamics go for less than that, usually about $250-$350 they might need a little attention. This example is questionable at $300. Over polished and that dial, in my opinion is not original.
BTW I like cal 601 watches, cleaner without the date window. I don't know why they go cheaper. I have 3 different Cal 601 Omegas and I got great deals on all of them.
    Here is one:

If any doubts, don't buy it. There are so many Geneve Dynamics around you can choose from. Let this one pass, search for another and inquire here again. There is so much knowledge aavailable here.
