I've been working on this for a while now. I ran across this watch from a private seller and would like advice. Asking price is $800 which I believe is fair. Advice on the price would be appreciated.

I prefer a bracelet to a band, and it includes a NOS bracelet, although it appears the bracelet has never been attached to this watch, so I may not do it either. Advice on this appreciated too.

To my untrained everything appears to check out:
    • The movement coloring is consistent throughout.
    • EMOY appears aligned correctly.
    • The watch is a spitting image of the one in the Omega database.
    • The word Constellation looks correct.
    • The 564 was added to this reference in 1965 and the serial number dates it to 1967.
Here is the link from the Omega vintage database:

The watch looks very good to me. The case and movement are clean don't appear over polished. The price as you say , is very fair for a 564 in excellent condition. Generally speaking these watches were sold on a band with the buyer picking a band of Omega or after market of their choice.
Here is one of mine on both a crocodile and its original after market band that the watch came with from the dealer.
Remember this model takes 19mm band (kind of nice) and the crown is supposed to be only semi-hidden on 168.010.

He stole that while an entire Omega forum on another website debated about it.

$800 for a hidden crown with dome dial is a bit too high. Check the hour markers to see if they are painted black or onyx inserts ?

    Here's my 168.010 in 18K yellow gold

Totally disagree here, you're not going to find a 564, 168.010 in that condition for 5-7 bucks. These things have gone up and though it is a dome not a pie pan the watch is a very good Constellation. The band is irrelevant , I don't care for one offered and don't believe it will look good on the watch.

Where do you guys find these watches? I get tired of wading through all of the junk and mine fields on ebay.

Oh Lord...don't get them started on Constellations. However...I will say that watch of Cinderella's with the black dial...if I ever wore a dress watch...I might choose one like that.

my advice is "go for the best, don't settle for less".

Today, you think that $800 is right for that dome dial, but after you see some better ones, you may think again and will be happy to save that $800 for another one in the future .
    Best regards

I'll buy that for $2.24... Actually it is one that I would be interested in. Will see where it goes. DW has me on a short leash right now...

Will do - but you should know there's a line. Steve / cicindella has first dibs (and even has a count down going til when he figures I'll tire of it :p ) followed by Spencer / hippocampus.
