    Hi folks,

As some of you know, I've been trying to hunt down a good UG chrono for a while. I've been a fool once or twice, and have turned down good watches for idiotic reasons (Dre's chrome compax haunts me...)

Unfortunately, I'm still new to vintage watches, but am learning due to the patience of the kind folks here

I found this watch, which I believe is a UG 22705. I can't make out the reference number, but have asked the seller for confirmation

Now, the issues with this watch that my novice eye struggle with:
    1) It's been polished- I think a decent bit. This is one thing I struggle to see, so how bad is it?
    2) Pushers- The pushers look original to me, but I've missed them before. If they aren't original, can you explain how you can tell?
    3) Watch looks grimy for something that supposedly was recently serviced.
    4) Price- Seller is asking $6k USD. Seems a bit pricey given the one that sold on watchpool a few months ago, but these are kinda hard to find
    5) No Bracelet- not a big issue, but is hard to find

Can I draw on the well of knowledge here? And do y'all see any more issues with the watch? Thanks

i'm not very good with these round pusher versions, but that won't stop me from putting my 2 cents in, lol, just take it with a grain of salt....

    1) cal 130 is a val 72, not sure how that affects price compared to the earlier in house movements
    2) what is up with the bottom pusher? It's either stuck in the depressed position and/or it's a different size/shape from the upper pusher?
    3) unless they produce paperwork, which you can verify, I would assume the "just serviced" is BS
    4) dial looks fine to me
    5) I would want to see a shot where the hands are not nested on top of each, just in case someone is trying to hide some funny biz
    6) case looks a bit mashed up and dirty. not sure on the polish, I always have a hard time reading the bombay lugs because they start out kinda soft anyways.
    7) I think it's nice, I would like it, but not sure what is a good price on this...

This is a very nice original looking example imo. The case isn't bad- hard to tell with these like @bgrisso mentioned but nothing over-done. A nice cleaning would take care of the grime. Dial looks very good for age. If it was serviced it wasn't serviced well bc you can see the chrono hand isn't resetting exactly to 12.

Personally I like the valjoux 72.6 movement as it's storied and comes with a deep horological history. The movement that powers the most famous watch in the world - newman's daytona.

As for the price- these seem to be going only one way at the moment ^^^

Very nice watch, I got the counter part cal 281, the aesthetics are exactly the same, just that the movements are different.

    Thanks folks.

I'm very tempted right now. I love this aesthetic

But can anyone speak to the pushers? Any issues there?

The centre chrono hand is a replacement though. Probably won’t be able to find a replacement for it but still it looks good

In a nutshell, It is a well priced 22705. It looks to be in reasonable aesthetic condition and almost ticks all of the boxes. Second hand as mentioned is not correct and case back has undergone some sort of brushing. Pushers look like the have been played around with as the body of the reset is smaller and profile of pusher looks a little off. That could be corrected ...

    Hi All
Where can one see the serial and referecence numbers for this model?
Could not find them on the case back pictures.
Nice model but case seems to have some rust.
    Regards

Case reference and serial should be on case back. They are not visible and should be. The finish on ase vack is not original. Hence my point about it been brushed. I think it is dirt rather than rust. SS cases do not rust unless it is a very low quality steel. Quite unlikely for UG ...

Quite right Florent. Second runner is probably right ... difficult to tell but still looks a little short ...

However, pushers do not sit correctly as the reset is far lower than the start stop. To me it looks like the pusher tube is smaller but I could be wrong. It is not right as it is though, but no big deal. Also, the crown also looks a little small for that model.

    Correct crown ....

Agree with you for both crown and pushers ...

And I agree with you, a very nice watch and one of the most attractive and best styled references in my eyes. Grossly undervalued. I expect these to go up to the early tens in the coming years ...

Looking at both @Florent and OP's example, it seems that the minute track bleeds into the 6 o clock subdial. I have also noticed that the swiss word is positioned very differently as well.

Are these variations acceptable for UG?
